We deliver your trailer to the Canadian border crossing closest to your delivery location.
You contact a Canadian Customs Agent to process all the Canadian paperwork and pay any import costs to bring your order home. We provide you all the necessary paperwork to register you trailer or Tiny House (RV).
Prior to shipment, contact CBSA to determine delivery address at boarder. Contact Canadian Border Services Agency for details. (http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5048-eng.html)
Because all three Tumbleweed products are FMVSS Certified (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and Regulations: www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/FMVSS/) we can send our Canadian customers to the Canadian Registrar of Imported Vehicles: http://www.riv.ca/Home.aspx to assist with their import. We have been advised that the fee is $200.
A recent Canadian customer shared their experience after talking with Canadian authorities:
"Since this is a new trailer being built to American standards, I do not have to inform the US border agency. I can purchase my trailer and come pick it up (in PA, close to me) and drive to the border. There is an import form the Canadian border agency will have me fill out, and when I get home I send them some money (~200$ or something). Then they email an info package and I bring that with my trailer to an inspection place to have the trailer looked over for safety, and we're done. They also said that once you have a VIN number for the trailer, I could call them with it, to have them check everything is OK with the VIN on their end." - Errol K., February 2015
